I had that problem the other day when I had a sudden urge to update one of my old fics and discovered that my bedroom had eaten my external hard drive (which I still haven't found =_=)

Ugh, my dorm room ate my harddrive too. I finally found it when I overhaul-cleaned my room about six months later. >
