Mnemonic Insiders and Info

Fun times, yes?
Unlike Silence is Golden, Mnemonic has no particular scheme to naming the chapters, aside from the second chapter, whose title is taken from the Aerosmith song "Jaded".
There is a playlist for Mnemonic, but unfortunately, it was lost when I had to get a new hard-drive for my computer (a virus ate one of the drivers for it). I can see what I can do to get it back. The playlist for Mnemonic is much happier than the one for Silence is Golden, despite the respective tones of the pieces being opposite of that.
I had a rough time writing Mnemonic at times, for a few reasons. One, first-person and present tense are NOT my usual style of writing, and it takes me a second to settle into that style of writing. Two, I had to walk a very careful line between "How much to tell in order to actually TELL the story" and "How does a real person actually write in their diary?" It was well worth it in the end, and I'm very proud of how it all turned out.
Alright, now fact times!
1. The city that Zexion lives in is actually Traverse Town (in spirit, at least).
2. I wrote most of the second chapter before I even came up with the rest of the storyline, and decided to give it some backstory first.
3. The italics sections between the entries was something I added last minute.
4. I posted the first chapter of Mnemonic on FF.net on the 27th of November. After that, I got a review from a reader on the sixth chapter of Silence is Golden wondering absent how Roxas would react once Axel left. Then the entire plot for the last half of Mnemonic was changed.
5. To clarify, the original plot for Mnemonic involved no reincarnation. Demyx was just a college student who was saving up his money to go back to college, and he disappeared at the end of the second chapter after spending a year and a day with Zexion. Zexion then spent the rest of the third chapter looking for him, etc etc, it wasn't very well thought through. After Silence is Golden, though, I couldn't have two VERY SIMILAR plotlines, and so I just ... changed it. Thought for a few days, and came up with the reincarnation plot which, in my opinion, works MUCH better.
6. Roxas's fear of falling (mentioned in the first chapter) is something I have. High places, I'm fine with, but the sensation of falling makes me panic.
7. Zexion doesn't consider using Demyx's name all that important when he first meets him, and this is reflected in how he writes for the first half of the second chapter. It's always "Axel's friend" or "The musician" or even just "The blonde". About the time he begins to recover his memories, he starts using Demyx's name more often in his writing.
8. Axel and Roxas have their own sidestory that deals a bit more with how they get together. It's going to be part of my fill for schmoop bingo.
9. Two lines of dialogue made this fic. I looked at the soaked blond, curious despite my better judgment. 'Don't you have anywhere else to go?' Demyx smiled a tired, sad smile that only reached his eyes as pain and answered, '…no, not really.'
10. Everyone else does get their memories back and form certain couples.
11. Yes, Demyx's uncle really is Xigbar.
12. Xigbar did think he was crazy for a while, but once he met Xaldin, he sorta figured out that he wasn't.
13. Demyx knew four things when he first remembered. He knew that he was Number Nine in Organization Thirteen. He knew that Xigbar was Number Two. He knew all of the conversations he had with Xigbar. And he knew that Zexion was out there somewhere.
14. The more people that remembered, the more things Demyx remembered.
15. But he knew who was and who wasn't someone he had once known on sight.
16. Writing Demyx's entry at the end of the piece was the most fun part to write.
17. That being said, I enjoyed writing everything in the second chapter in a completely different way.
