zenelly | The Silver Lining

After my crap day on Monday (and let me tell those of you who can't see the friend-locked entry that it was a CRAP day), I finally found the good that came out of it.

Well. Sort of.

I now have yet ANOTHER idea for a fic. Another Zemyx one. One that heads down a dark path. Darker than anything I've written so far.

Right now, I have three fics (two in-progress, and one completed), and they are Silence is Golden, Mnemonic, and the one I affectionately call Pants 'R' Us. I have divided them in my mind into the "Light", "Middle", and "Dark" ranges. Right now, Silence is Golden is the Light one, Pants 'R' Us is in the middle, and Mnemonic is the dark one. But that will change. It will change a lot. Mnemonic will be moved to Middle-Dark, and this new story will become my new Dark. It will also be a higher rating than the others, because I think that there are a few scenes in there that have to be done, and they're mildly non-consensual and at least a little explicit.

It will be another chaptered fic, and one that I refuse to work on until after Mnemonic is finished.

I already have a title for it, too. And I'm going to post the lines that popped into my head as I was trying to get to sleep on Monday night that inspired this.

It will be called The Twilight Between:

It wasn’t that he really wanted this, and he knew that. Even as he sank to his knees and opened his mouth, he knew that. It was just that he wanted something to replace the aching pain in his mind.

Something to distract him from the salt tracks on his face.

I can't promise that there won't be a happy ending (or at least a sorta happy ending) because I'm a sucker for those, and I torture the characters because I think it makes their eventual happiness more believable. I barely even have a plot for this yet. But I want to write it.
